Recurrent boils, Abscess etc. Symptoms Causes Prevention Remedies

When medicines stop working – good food may start working. Do not reduce your foods intake rather alter it!

Top foods and home remedies for diabetics.

Make sure to avoid any ingredient or herb etc., you are allergic or intolerant to – discussed in this video!

Eat more low glycemic foods that have very little bad effect on blood sugar levels, you may have these foods in moderation.

Consider eating mor e Low glycaemic foods such as:

  • Fruits: Raspberries, apples, pears, blueberries, strawberries, oranges, peaches, grapes, kiwi and bananas etc, they’re full of antioxidants, vitamin C and fibre.
  • Vegetables: – kale, Brussels sprouts, spinach, Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, tomato, carrots, green peas and corn on the cob etc
  • Sweeteners – natural stevia, fructose, agave syrup, coconut palm sugar
  • Dairy – butter, cheese, skimmed milk, low fat yogurt, soy milk
  • Consider High Fibre Foods to slow down glucose absorption, such as bitter melons, avocados, berries, seeds and nuts such as walnuts, almonds and pecans are heart-healthy and tasty sources of fibre and antioxidants.

Cruciferous vegetables include broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale and Brussels sprouts. These non-starchy vegetables are rich in potassium, folate and vitamin C.

Favour more organic chicken, turkey, egg whites and wild-caught fish that contains omega 3 fats and reduce inflammation which can help counteract some of the negative effects of elevated blood glucose.

Omega 3 is necessary for proper insulin function too.

Legumes and beans – whatever version you like — foods loaded with fibre and protein to keep you feeling filled up longer.

Apple Cider Vinegar. It can balance blood sugar and improve diabetes.  Put apple cider vinegar on salads or consume 1 tablespoon in water before meals.

Grape seed extract has been proven to improve the conditions associated with diabetes. It protects the liver cells by setting up defence mechanisms.

Black Seed is considered to be one of the miraculous cures for high sugar levels.

Green tea being strong antioxidant and hypoglycaemic effects – helps in a controlled release of blood sugars.

Bitter Melon also known as bitter gourd or karela, is a unique vegetable-fruit that can help in blood sugar levels.

Sprinkle spices and herbs like cinnamon, turmeric, and parsley on your food.

Eat a slice of baked pumpkin topped with olive oil and rosemary every day.

Coconut, olive, flaxseed and red palm oils can help balance blood sugar levels.

Include brown rice and barley in the menu.

Bonus Remedy Number One for diabetes

  • Soak sliced okras in water overnight.
  • Next morning, take okras out of water and drink that water an hour after breakfast.
  • Check your sugar levels after an hour!
  • Drink this water for at least 3 days and take it as needed when your sugar levels elevate.

Bonus Remedy Number two

  • Grind 60 grams fenugreek seeds.
  • Soak in water.
  • Strain and drink morning & evening for 6 weeks to manage your diabetes naturally.
  • You may add 7 black seeds with this drink for added benefits.

Bonus Remedy Number three

  • Take equal amount of oats and barley flakes.
  • Add ground cinnamon as sweetener, and ground fennel seeds for aroma.
  • Add low-fat milk to make cereal in a bowel and drink daily for long-term.
  • This great recipe will not only lower your sugar levels but bad cholesterol levels as well, plus helps detox your body due to their high fibre contents.

Bonus Remedy Number four: Cabbage and lentils soup:

  • Boil half head chopped cabbage, 1 diced yam, and one third cup lentils in 8 cups of water for 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Season lightly with herbs and spices and eat as a soup for dinner.
  • Have this dish 2 to 3 times a week for a month.

Bonus Remedy Number five: Spinach vegetable juice:

1 daikon radish, 3 stalks of celery, 1 cucumber, and 1 bunch of spinach.

Drink 2 glasses a day.

Miraculous Fruit for diabetes: Jamun is the miraculous fruit for people specially with type-2 diabetes.

Cleansing diet – foods to avoid in diabetes.

Avoid all simple or refined sugars, white carbohydrates such as cane sugar, white bread, sauces, white rice or pasta, cakes, biscuits, desserts, artificial syrups, soda, juices, candies, French fries, hot dogs, sweetened breakfast cereals, pancake syrups, chocolate, pastries, jams, honey and Gluten containing grains like wheat etc.

Avoid canned, Pre-packaged, or processed higher-fat cuts of lunch meats, snacks and baked goods as they contain lots of added sodium, preservatives etc.

Remove hydrogenated oils – vegetable, soybean, cottonseed, and canola oils.

Avoid smoking and caffeine which can have an adverse effect on sugar metabolism.

Conventional full-fat dairy products such as cow’s milk should be eliminated especially for type 1 diabetics. Dairy can be a fantastic food for balancing blood sugar if it comes from goats, sheep, or A2 cows. When buying dairy, only purchase raw and organic from pasture raised animals.

Alcohol can dangerously increase blood sugar and lead to liver toxicity. Beer and sweet liquors are high in carbohydrates and should be avoided.

  • Do not take appetite suppressants to control weight, they increase blood sugar levels.
  • Avoid potatoes, yam and other “underground vegetables”.
  • Avoid fried food or mayonnaise-based food except if non-fat mayonnaise.

Suggested dietary supplement for diabetes management.

Chromium is an essential trace element, and its deficiency can affect carbohydrates metabolism and reduces your body’s ability to use carbs — converted into sugar — for energy and raises your insulin needs.

Chromium may enhance effects of insulin or support the activity of pancreatic cells that produce insulin and cut cholesterol and triglyceride levels, whilst increasing HDL levels.

Foods high in chromium such as broccoli, raw cheese, green beans, and grass-fed beef etc., may help reduce fasting glucose levels particularly in type 2 diabetics and can improve glucose tolerance factor and naturally.

Many patients with diabetes are Vitamin B1 deficient and that may lead to certain diabetes complications such as fatigue, irritability, poor memory, loss of appetite, sleep disturbances, abdominal discomfort, weight loss and blood vessel damage etc.

Inositol may have a role to play in reversing the effects of diabetic neuropathy that is nerves damage caused by diabetes.

Alpha-lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant and taking it alongside prescription diabetes treatment may help decrease fasting blood sugar and A1C.

It may also:

  • Protect against oxidative damage.
  • Improve eyesight or vision.
  • Improve neuropathic symptoms.
  • And decrease fasting plasma glucose.

Caution: It needs to be taken with extra care under supervision of your GP, as it has the potential to lower blood sugar levels to dangerous levels.

  • Magnesium is an essential nutrient found in many foods and may improve glucose levels and insulin sensitivity in those at risk.
  • Probiotics contain beneficial friendly bacteria and offer several health benefits and may improve body’s handling of carbohydrates. Probiotics may decrease blood sugar by reducing inflammation and preventing the destruction of pancreatic cells that make insulin.
  • Vitamins B6 and B12 may be effective in cases of severe damage to the nerves due to diabetes known as Neuropathy.
  • Type 1 diabetics generally have low vitamin C levels. By adding Vitamin C the levels of sorbitol may be lowered.
  • Sorbitol is a harmful sugar, and its presence may lead to increased risk of diabetic complications such as retinopathy, neuropathy and kidney damage etc.
  • Vitamin D deficiency is considered a potential risk factor for type 2 diabetes as it is thought to help boost insulin sensitivity, which is vital for blood glucose regulation.
  • Zinc is considered an essential element in insulin metabolism, a powerful protector against viral infections and may act to protect beta cells from destruction.
  • Type 1 diabetics are often zinc deficient, and supplements have been shown to lower blood sugar levels.

For your particular health problem(s), or to change your medications it is strongly suggested to avoid self-medication and consult your GP / health provider or Mind & Body Holistic Health Clinic.
