DISCLAIMER: Although, most natural remedies including herbal supplements, homeopathic remedies or aromatherapy formulations for external use etc., are generally very safe even in children and old age, we still recommend you to seek medical advice from your GP / personal health provider before making your purchase etc., if unsure.
Some patients may experience a little aggravation or worsening of their symptoms, specially in skin disorders – which is absolutely normal and a good sign, as most natural remedies tend to bring the disease in its expressive state – rather suppressing it deeper under the skin etc.
This complimentary remedies kit is taken with your own responsibility. Please avoid self-medication specially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have been suffering from any chronic or terminal medical conditions etc.
Due to strict UK regulations on the sale of medicinal products, we cannot give specific advice, without a face-to-face consultation.
Corns and calluses are thick, hardened, sometimes painful layers of skin that develop due to friction or pressure.
They often form on feet and toes or hands and fingers.
Both conditions are slightly different and not the same:
Corns are smaller lumps of hard skin and deeper than calluses with hard center surrounded by swollen skin.
They can be painful when pressed.
If they are hard – often form on the top of the toes or the outer edge of the small toe, but soft ones normally form between the toes.
Calluses are comparatively larger patches of rough, and thick skin and may vary in size and shape.
They are not painful and tend to develop on pressure spots, such as the heels, the balls of the feet, the palms and the knees.
Signs and symptoms of corns and calluses include:
- A hardened, raised bump
- A thick, rough area of skin
- Tenderness or pain under the skin
- Flaky, dry or waxy skin
- Maybe very painful or inflamed
Common Causes and risk factor of Corns and calluses:
Caused by friction, rubbing and pressure from repeated actions.
For example, from:
- Wearing high heels, uncomfortable, tight shoes or the ill-fitting – wrong sized shoes.
- Wearing shoes without socks
- Lifting heavy weights
- Playing instruments or using hand tools.
- Family history. The type of corns that forms on soles and palms (keratosis punctata), might be caused by genetics.
