These muscle movements – or contractions, often start in the eyelid, later they might move on to the cheek and mouth on the same side of the face.
With hemifacial spasm, twitches can pull the mouth to one side. Over time, twitches occur continuously.
In acute phase, these spasms come and go, but as the time passes and condition becomes chronic, they occur almost all the time.
