DISCLAIMER: Although, most natural remedies including herbal supplements, homeopathic remedies or aromatherapy formulations for external use etc., are generally very safe even in children and old age, we still recommend you to seek medical advice from your GP / personal health provider before making your purchase etc., if unsure.

Some patients may experience a little aggravation or worsening of their symptoms, specially in skin disorders – which is absolutely normal and a good sign, as most natural remedies tend to bring the disease in its expressive state – rather suppressing it deeper under the skin etc.

This complimentary remedies kit is taken with your own responsibility. Please avoid self-medication specially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have been suffering from any chronic or terminal medical conditions etc.

Due to strict UK regulations on the sale of medicinal products, we cannot give specific advice, without a face-to-face consultation.

Sleep apnea is a a potentially serious sleeping disorder in which there is a pause in the breathing while a person is sleeping, when the breathing stops and starts that lead to decrease in the level of oxygen.

It occurs repeatedly when you take a nap, especially at night.

They are mainly of 2 types:

  1. Obstructive sleep apnea which is the most common form that occurs when throat muscles relax and block the flow of air into the lungs.

These muscles support the soft palate – the uvula, the tonsils, the side walls of the throat and the tongue.

When the muscles relax, your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in resulting in not getting enough air, which can lower the oxygen level in your blood and lead to brief episodes of disturb sleep.

You might snore, choke or gasp that makes it hard to reach restful phases of sleep.

  1. Central sleep apnea a less common type which occurs when the brain doesn’t send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing.

You might awaken with shortness of breath or have a difficult time getting to sleep or staying asleep.

Symptoms of Sleep Apnea

  • Episode of disturb sleep which is noticed by another person
  • Irritability
  • Gasping for air during sleep
  • Problems in paying attention
  • Morning headache
  • Dry mouth, upon wake up
  • Excessive daytime sleepiness (hypersomnia)
  • Difficulty staying asleep (insomnia)
  • Loud snoring.
  • Trouble focusing.
  • Mood changes.

Further complications of sleep apnea may include:

  • Heart failure / heart attack
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Obesity
  • Irregular heartbeat
  • Premature death
  • High blood pressure.

Possible causes of sleep apnea:

  • Aged or being older or with family history.
  • Smoking leads to the problem of sleep apnea. Due to smoking, swelling is caused in the neck and throat. It decreases the space left for the flow of air. It reduces the flow of oxygen which leads to breathing problems.
  • Obesity – Fats deposit in the upper side of the respiratory tract causing the decrease in the size of the airway.
  • A narrowed airway can cause the sleep apnea problem. When the muscles at the back of the throat relax, then the airway becomes narrow. The narrowing of the airway leads to the decrease of flow of oxygen during the sleep which leads to the problem of sleeping apnea.
  • Use of alcohol – Consuming alcohol leads to relaxation in the muscles of the throat. This relaxation of the muscles may cause the problem of sleeping apnea.
  • Use of narcotic pain medicines, sedatives or tranquilizers.
  • Nasal congestion causes breathing problems due to common cold, allergies, smoking, alcohol etc.
  • People with thicker necks might have narrower airways.
  • Men are 2 to 3 times more likely to develop sleep apnea than are women.
  • Women increase their risk if they’re overweight or if they’ve gone through menopause.

Other associated causes of sleeping apnea may include:

  • Hypothyroidism
  • A narrow throat
  • Problem with nose structure
  • Neck circumference
  • Stroke
  • Heart disorders such as congestive heart failure, high blood pressure.
  • Type 2 diabetes
