Some patients may experience a little aggravation or worsening of their symptoms, specially in skin disorders – which is absolutely normal and a good sign, as most natural remedies tend to bring the disease in its expressive state – rather suppressing it deeper under the skin etc.

This complimentary remedies kit is taken with your own responsibility. Please avoid self-medication specially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or have been suffering from any chronic or terminal medical conditions etc.

Due to strict UK regulations on the sale of medicinal products, we cannot give specific advice, without a face-to-face consultation.

Dizziness is often described as feeling light-headed, losing your balance, or having the sensation that your head is spinning. It is a feeling or experience of spinning of the self or the environment.

In vertigo, patients feel that everything is moving or spinning, even if, they are standing still or lying down with eyes closed. They may also experience a sensation of nausea or loss of balance.

Vertigo is closely related to dizziness, but involves the perception of actually seeing the room spin about you, similar to what happens when you spin around rapidly and then stop. Vertigo may pass quickly, or it may last for hours or even days.

Common Causes

Vertigo or balance disorder can be caused due to several factors, like:

  • A condition called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo leads to attacks of vertigo triggered by certain head positions; its cause is believed to be deposits of calcium in the inner ear.
  • Problem in the vestibular labyrinth region of the ear.
  • Insufficient blood supply to the brain
  • Infection of the inner ear
  • Trauma to the head
  • New or incorrect spectacles
  • Inflammation of blood vessels
  • Involvement of nerves.
  • Toxic affections from use of certain drugs or medicines
  • Fear or anxiety as in crowds or open places
  • Central nervous system dysfunction
  • Sinus problems
  • Meniere’s disease – sudden, intense attacks of vertigo often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, along with ringing in the ears and progressive deafness.
  • Low or high blood pressure
  • Low blood sugar
  • Excess use of caffeine, tobacco or alcohol
  • Diabetes
  • High cholesterol level
  • Lack of sleep
  • Dehydration
  • Thyroid disease
  • Prolonged bed rest
  • Head injuries
  • Migraine
  • Calcium or Iron deficiency anaemia
  • Brain tumour in cerebellum
  • Poor vision
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Motion sickness
  • Sometimes allergies result in building-up of fluid in the middle ear, which may also lead to vertigo.

  • Experience of a feeling of spinning of self or of the environment.
  • Loss of balance sensation
  • Nausea
  • Noises in the ears

  • Positional vertigo occurs when the person suddenly moves his head from one side to the other or gets up from a lying down position.
  • Vertigo can arise even during traveling in cars or vehicles, which is called motion sickness.
  • Feeling that everything is moving
  • Difficulty in standing still and walking properly
  • Everything may appear double
  • Hard to swallow anything
  • Weaker limbs

DO’S, DONT’S

Conventional treatments for vertigo depend upon the cause and severity of the condition. e.g., for Meniere’s disease, changes in diet are often recommended (including limiting sodium, sugar, and alcohol intake).

  • Avoid turning of your head suddenly to prevent positional vertigo.
  • Identifying the cause and treat whether related to ear brain nerves, blood vessels, brain trauma or eyes, by check-up of the respective organs.
  • Measures to allay anxiety and other psychological disorders.
